WHAT DOES THE NAME CASTILE MEAN

Castile is the name used for soaps, body washes and cleaners that are made using only olive oil with no other oils added.

 

WHAT IS CAUSTIC SODA AND WHY IS IT USED IN SOAP MAKING

Caustic soda (also called lye or sodium hydroxide) is used to turn oil into bar soap but 72 hours after it is made the caustic soda is neutralised – no more oil – no more caustic soda – just pure mild safe-to-use bar soap.

 

WHAT IS CAUSTIC POTASH AND WHY IS IT USED IN LIQUID SOAP MAKING

Caustic potash (also called lye or potassium hydroxide) is used to turn oil into liquid soap but once it has been thoroughly mixed with the oils (4 – 6 hours) the caustic potash is neutralised – no more oil – no more caustic potash – just pure mild safe-to-use liquid soap.
